Rosemary Berkel Crisp
A graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Mrs. Crisp was a
co-founder of Women for Health and Wellness, Inc. Women’s health was a foremost
concern for Mrs. Crisp. She was appointed by the Secretary, Health and Human
Services, Tommy Thompson, to the National Advisory Board for Nursing Research based in
Bethesda, Maryland. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Society for
Advancement of Women’s Health Research and Hands of Hope Clinic (free clinic). Former
First Lady Brenda Edgar appointed her to the Illinois Women’s Health Campaign
Planning Team. Mrs. Crisp was the President or Chair of the Board for Women for
Health and Wellness, Inc. from 1996 to 2007. She served as the Co-chair of the Southern
Illinois Women's Health Conference and for five years served as the Chair of the Southern
Illinois Women's Teen Conference.
